OK, so you think you need a few things before you go crusing.

We went through the 1998 West Marine catalog and picked out the things we first thought we wanted or needed. The list on this page is what we came out with. When we finished, we looked at the total and almost fell over!!!!!!

Now keep in mind our Nor'Sea is only 27 foot. If you have a larger boat, your list will be longer and more $$! AND, this is just the start!! Think of all of the other things that you might want or need or think you need.

We have decided that we do not need everything on this list. What the list did do was provide us with a starting point. It has also helped us by providing an outline of the items we did decide to get. It was also helpful to allow us to keep an eye out for the sales and only get the items when we got an outstanding price.

A key thing to remember here - The longer you plan ahead, the more items you can find on sale! Over about two years almost EVERYTHING on this list was on some sort of sale.

Also keep in mind, a lot of the items you will NOT be able to purchase until you have the boat you intend to use to go cruising!
